HVAC Equipment Terms and Conditions  

  1. Applicant must be a New Jersey residential customer of JCP&L.
  2. Rebate applications are valid for qualified equipment purchased and installed beginning January 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.
  3. Rebate application must be submitted within 120 days of purchase.
  4. It is the responsibility of the customer to assure that all requirements for the rebate are met. Failure to provide any of the required information will prevent processing of your application. Please submit one rebate form per unit.
  5. Rebate payments are based on the equipment installation date.  Customers must abide by the rules and rebate levels in effect on the date of installation.  Rebate levels cannot exceed the cost of the equipment.
  6. Purchase must be of qualified high-efficiency electric equipment as defined in the tables in this rebate form. 
  7. The efficiency levels are based on the Air-conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certified performance criteria of an outdoor unit and indoor coil (and/or furnace/blower) working together. These ratings are found on the AHRIdirectory.org website. All ENERGY STAR-certified equipment must be listed at energystar.gov in order to participate in this program. Both the outdoor unit and coil /indoor unit must be replaced and installed as a matched set.
  8. Payment will be issued to the account holder at mailing address on record with the utility or to submitting contractor as assigned by customer through their signature on this rebate form.
  9. Please allow up to 30 days from the date all required information is received to process your rebate(s).
  10. All rebated products must be installed and used at the service (install) address specified on the rebate application.
  11. Program procedures, requirements and rebate levels are subject to change or cancellation without notice and are subject to available program funds.
  12. By participating in the Company’s energy efficiency and peak demand reduction programs, customers agree their electric utility will maintain ownership of all Capacity Rights from electric savings measures, which refers to the demand reduction associated with any energy efficiency and peak demand reduction measure for which incentives were provided by the Company. Your electric utility will aggregate these energy efficiency demand reduction attributes into the PJM capacity market as appropriate, with proceeds being used to reduce customers’ costs for the programs. 
  13. If applying for incentives for natural gas and electric measures at the same time through JCP&L, it is prohibited to apply for the same incentive with the gas company.
  14. JCP&L and/or their designees including program administrators and evaluation contractors reserve the right to review installations to verify completion and measure energy savings to ensure compliance with all program requirements. Such reviews will be made at a time convenient to the applicant. Misrepresentation of installation location or measure eligibility may result in forfeiture of the rebate.
  15. Installations must be completed in accordance with all laws, codes and other requirements applicable under federal, state and local authority. 
  16. You are urged to seek appropriate consultation concerning any tax liabilities that could be associated with the receipt of the rebate.
  17. JCP&L and/or its designees, including program administrators, do not endorse any particular manufacturer or product as part of this program.
  18. JCP&L, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and agents assume no responsibility for the performance of the equipment or equipment warranty, the quality of the work, labor and/or materials supplied, and/or the acts or omissions of the participating contractor. 
  19. CLEARresult, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and agents assume no responsibility for the performance of the equipment or equipment warranty, the quality of the work, labor and/or materials supplied, and/or the acts or omissions of the participating contractor.”
  20. The customer hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless, JCP&L , their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability associated with this project.
  21. By submitting this application, customer agrees to the terms and conditions of this document and certifies that the information provided is true and accurate. Costs of these programs may be recovered through customer rates in accordance with New Jersey law.
